First-launch steps
  1. Open the DMG and drag NotchMuse to Applications.
  2. Try to open NotchMuse. If macOS blocks it, click Done; do not move it to the Trash.
  3. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.
  4. Authenticate if macOS asks, then open NotchMuse again.

INSTALLATION & SETUP

Ready in a few steps.

NotchMuse v0.8.0 Beta 2 requires macOS 14 or later and an Apple silicon Mac. This beta is ad-hoc signed and is not notarized with an Apple Developer ID.

  1. Download and open the DMG.
  2. Drag NotchMuse to Applications.
  3. In Applications, Control-click NotchMuse and choose Open.
  4. If macOS blocks it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway.
  5. Grant the requested permissions when prompted.

Frequently asked questions

Which music players work with NotchMuse?

Spotify, Apple Music, NetEase Cloud Music, QQ Music, and Soda Music are supported.

What Mac do I need?

NotchMuse currently requires macOS 14 or later and an Apple silicon Mac. The current beta is for arm64 Macs.

Why does macOS ask for permission?

NotchMuse needs Automation permission to read the selected player’s current track and playback position. The left-side menu bar layout also needs Accessibility permission.

Does NotchMuse upload or listen to my audio?

No. It does not read or upload audio. Track details may be sent to third-party lyrics providers for matching. No NotchMuse account or telemetry is required.
